Bad trade?
Today I traded my old G30 for a Gen 4 G17.I had a Gen 4 G17 and traded it for a two stroke dirtbike that needs tires and brakes. So somehow today I traded my G30 +100 for another gen 4 17.I'm already regretting it.I haven't shot my 17 yet but the slide feels catchy(?) when work it.This is my third gen 4 and I haven't had problems with the other two. That's not why I regret it.It's because that 30 was an accurate peice and it's what I carry in winter.Guess I need a G36 now.You guys think that was a bad trade?

Here's your answer. It all depends on how you feel about the trade as to whether it was a good one or not.

Need pics of the Bike.
Glock just needs a few hundred more rounds threw it to work it in.
I say good trade, you can always trade again if you are not happy.

Traded the G-30? "Big mistake, IMHO."
Either get another G-30 or a G-36.

Sounds like a good trade to me. One thing I have learned about Glocks is they are great for trading lots of people think they are the best handgun and expensive. I love it cause I dont feel bad about getting rid of it.

Good, bad? It's your call. One thing is for sure though, Glock will make more of them if you change your mind.

I know you are regretting it right now. But you may not feel that way after you shoot the Gen 4 G17. So my sugestion is to take it out to the range and shoot it ASAP. Give us a range report and let us know how you feel about the trade.

I'd say it was a good trade. Not to start the 9mm vs .45 thing - but I'll take the extra capacity and faster follow-up shots.
You really need to shoot it before you can decide for yourself.

Closed down because of rain today.First,I was going to take the Ghost rocket connector, competition spring kit out of my gen 4 26 and put them in the unfired 17 because I want to return my EDC to stock(gotta get a new trigger bar, filed the bump off and that wouldn't look good in court)but because the suddeness of the range run and I thought even though I've had two previous gen 4's without issues I'd better wait.Loaded up all my mags(grabbed my LC9,couldn't resist thats an accurate little piece)and the 17 and 26 and a box of bellot and sellior(?) box of wwb 115, two boxes of independance 115 fmj and a box of magtech 115 FMJ.I didn't like the trigger of the 17 when dryfiring but when firing today it seemed pretty good. When I shoot at the range I usually draw(from the table) and rip 3 or 4 rounds off quickly as if in self defense. But being a new gun I wanted to test accuracy(difficult since it's moreso than me)and I was impressed but where these gen 4s excell is(I think) when using the reset for quick follow ups.I'm getting better at just watching the front sight regardless of where the back sights are and I actually got through a whole clip without blinking(17 rounder)I can now quickly deliver 8 shots inside the 8 ring of a 50 yd.pistol target @ 7 yards(once).Oh yeah the gun,I think the new stiffer spring is awesome. It definitly reduces recoil. The grip is improved moderatly but improved. Now I don't regret at all trading my G30.Can't wait to trick this one out.Wish I could carry this big bad #%*$.Can't wait to my next trip home to the mountains gonna be some steel shootin going on.I might even be about half as good as Hickok45 now.Oh yeah,no issues.

Glad to hear that everything went well and yoy are happy with your new Glock 17. I had a feeling that a trip to the range might ease your second guesses about the trading off your Glock 30.
