    The vast majority of us can't get a LEO discount. So comparing our prices there's no we can get a Glock and LCP for $700.

    This really about a 1911 problem rather than a discussion about advantages of Glocks. More of a 1911 to 1911 thing.

    True enough. But if you factor in the cost of the 500-round break in that Kimber demands...you're back in the same ballpark.

    I'm just following your recent 1911 threads with some interest because I've been considering a 1911 as a range gun for a while. I just cannot justify the expense to myself, or to my CFO...
    The number of people killed because they didn't have "enough gun" is dwarfed by those who had none at all. Get a gun you will always carry, and add more capability as you grow.
