I have a blue P3AT 1st gen and my wife has a Hard Chrome second generation P3AT. I haven't had any rust problems with my blue carried in K&D pocket holster every day or the HC for that matter, but if given a choice for a few dollars more I would choose the Hard Chrome if available. The blue ones are fairly easy to find but the HC are difficult to locate. If I couldn't find a HC and choose to go ahead with blue I would just use apply RemOil or some other good lubricant occassionally.

estimber - thanx for the comments on the HC. Does anyone have the parkerized?
I haven't found any HC's so far and I was told by one dealer that they've been on back order since April!
I have found the blue and the parkerized. Is the parkerized smoother than the blue but less than the HC or is it just supposed to be less susceptible to moisture/rust?
