Picked up new Colt Goverment Model

A couple of hours ago, I stopped to pick up the Colt I had been wanting. But, I was going to get the stainless steel. However, the blued steel and wood called my name louder and has found a home.

It's the Colt 100 Years of Service edition, a basic , no frills , genuine Colt Gov Model.

I think Old School will help with the pics since I do not have the ability to do that due to lap top is on the ropes.;D

Very Cool glockman, I really wish I could afford one of those.

I have two Colt firearms. A 1911 Officers model and the AR-15 A2 Govt. Carbine. Two weapons I will never ever part with. They will be family heirlooms passed on to the grandkids.

I'm not big on tricked out custom race guns. Mainly because I can't afford one. But if you want a 1911, get a Colt.

Congrats on your new acquisition! Can't wait to see some pics.

Perhaps a Taurus 1911, I've heard that they're pretty bad!

Bmcgilvray, I tried to get your email address, but your box is full. I was going to send you pics.

Old School posted the pics on my original " need help" thread about the 1911.
I post them due to hard drive being out.

I know it doesn't make sense, but of all the 1911's out there, nothing feels quite like a Colt in your hand!

    BIG friggin +1 to that!!

Heirloom, yes. My son doesn't know it yet but mine will be his one day. 6 years until his is 18. It was my first handgun, and shall be his. I should have a few more by then.

Sorry about that. I did some "weeding" so can now receive the photos. I'll bet Old School will happily post 1911 photos though.
