First rounds through my new Glock 19 at my range... with Pics!

Well, I've had my new Glock 19 for 1 week and I have yet to shoot it. A few hours ago I found an 8 foot piece of PT wood, and a 6 foot piece of wood in my dad's garage. I've never constructed anything before, but I figured it shouldn't be too hard to make a little target stand for my range. After about 30 mins I made it!

So, I had a pack of turkey targets that have a 12 inch circumference, circular target. I taped the target to the stand, and put it downhill 20 yards and fired the first 30 rounds ever through my new Glock!!

The gun shot fantastically. I was shooting Winchester white box, and everything went great. Only on one shot did I get a shell ejected to my forehead. Other than that, everything was perfect! The trigger is absolutely amazing.

Here is a picture of the target after I shot. Keep in mind the target was at a steep decline and the target was blowing back and forth because of the wind. Also, I haven't shot a handgun in about 4 months, so all this put together created a pretty good shoot today.

Nice! I purchased a Gen 4 G19 last month. I've not had any issues. I did read (sorry can not remember where) what caused the ejected casing to hit ones head. Anyone here know why?

Congrats on the new gun and I really like that target stand.

Not to hijack the thread but, I notice in the background of the target stand shots a Pontiac Vibe. I'd love to hear your take on that car in a PM. I have looked at them and am considering one as a replacement for my beloved old Jeep Cherokee.

    Thumbs up

Congrats. I'm really looking forward to hitting the range this weekend, and the G19 will certainly be among my tool set.

Congrats on the GLOCK 19, a well made target stand, and some decent shooting. It'll only get better stick with it. Cheap paper plates make good targets also.

Congrats on your new G19. Very nice Stand, too.

Great shooting. How did you avoid hitting the cars?

Not to hijack your hijack but I thought I'd chime in. I leased a new 2003 Vibe for 3 years and was very pleased with it. Not a single problem with it, very versatile (rear seat backs fold flat and are covered in a hard plastic for hauling cargo), decent power for a 4 cyl (adequate for passing) not a fast 'n' furious machine, front passenger seat back folds down for a little table area or more hauling capacity. If you didn't know they are basically a rebadged Toyota Matrix (make sure yours has had the recalls performed if alpplicable).
