    It's here!

Just got my ruger .44 super redhawk Alaskan yesterday. I has got to be one of the meanest looking pieces I own! love the feel and the grip I am taking it to the range thursday to get some trigger time so I will post up a range report then. After I get some rounds through it I am gonna try and carry it (just because) I can't find an inside the pants holster for it though, so also pictured is my first attempt and a mock up. My mother owns a costum shop so after I find a design that works I am getting one made.

Very nice!!!! I think you are going to like the way those grips, and the gun's heft, soak up the recoil.

That is going to be one big chunk of iron (stainless) to carry concealed.

With the short barrel AIWB might just work out well though.

Looking forward to the range report.

I would really like to buy a holster for this instead of having it made. If anyone has saw one please let me know.

I have been looking since I read your post.

Some great OWB holsters (I like the Simply Rugged Sourdough and Pancake) but I saw no IWB.

Still looking. Was hoping for Remora but no.

My Simply Rugged Sourdough for my 4" 686 pulls the holster snug againsts my body at 3 O'Clock and a lightweight covering is all that is needed.

Look at Simply Rugged. They are really the authority on bulding simple working holsters for hog legs like that. You are gonna be hard pressed to find one pre made.

Very nice shottin iron you got there.

Just get the Inside the Waistband straps for your Simply Rugged Holster....that way you get the option of carrying IWB, or OWB.

You might be a gun nut if...the biggest holster you can find is still too small. Nice gun and thanks for the pics!

I would definitely get a better holster than the Uncle Mikes type, with that short of a barrel, even inside waist band carry there could be a huge potential for the gun to fall out,
