I was just thinking the same thing .... i'd look for an old S&W chiefs special or a tarus light weight and stuff a couple speed strips in my pocket. Specially if you are not planning on alot of training with your weapon. Ankle carry makes for a very dirty gun and for some reason a little 5-shot just felt smoother on my ankle. Good luck and btw you should be able to pick on up for about 200 to 250.

artz, your right about the above G27. No way, no how, is it that small.

For the $300 mentioned,if you look hard, you should be able to find a good to so-so J-frame or a new Kel-Tec. If you have the 3C$ don't get a derringer or one of the tiny .22's.

I have never seen a used Glock for 3C$ but just maybe. Also stay away from the Raven's,Bryco's,Jenning's, and similar.

For the money mentioned you will have quite a few choices. Remember to check to see if a holster is made that will carry your choice the way you want it to.

Also,I would think that for ankle carry,it would be very important to have a VERY light weapon but no expierance in this.

Hit the gunshows so as to be able to handle before you buy/order your choice.-------

:) That G27 looks _tiny_ in that guy's hand... that must be one huge dude! Notice how thin the baby Block looks?

Just shows what a good photographer can do :)

I'd go with the P3AT in a pocket holster... in fact... I did!

Thanks a lot guys. I'm gonna check out some of those options today.
that Glock is small for Goliath there, but for me it isn't near that small and I'm 6'2". My cousin owns one so I know from handling it that picture is deceiving. I Don't know where to get a Glock for $300 either. I have shopped for the G26 and here in TN they aren't going for that price.
Thanks again for everyones opinions. If anyone has more thoughts, I'd love to hear more.

im not trying to "deceive" anyone......its just a picture i found online. dude might have huge hands i dunno, but its still a solid recommendation as the 27/27/33 is an excellent and easily concealable weapon. you dont have to wonder if its going to function like with many sub-compacts.

here is the 26 in stephen camps hand. course, i dunno how big his hand is so maybe that doesnt illustrate the size of the 26 any better.

here it is beside some 9mm bullets. no question about its actual size.

all depends on where youre at. i can buy a g26/27/33 new here for $450 so $300 used from a private individual shouldnt be unreasonable.

It's heavier than some of the new "poly" pistols for sure. But not as heavy as some of the revolvers that get stuck into pockets.

By the way Rhome is doing me a nice sneaky holster for it.

    HAHAHAHA!! I knew it!!
Sorry, I wasn't trying to step on any toes. I retract my previous statement.

I'm almost wanting a wheelie since I already own some autoloaders. I'm still going to check on the different suggestions made though....even that tiny G27

i'll go with the crowd on this one. I got my keltec p3at for about 250 brand new and it is smaller than my cell phone. Weighs alittle more especially loaded with 7 rds of 380. Would be perfect for a ankle holster. Have tried maks and my 642 j frame in a ankle holster and found them to be too heavy or that the grips stick out just a bit too far.
P3at holds more than my revo(5vs7) and you can have spare mags.(speedloaders are huge when you put one in your pocket and speed strips take too long) A pocket holster is a good way to go for a bug. Ever try to have a friend attack you(simulated) and try to pull a gun(TOY) from a ankle holster as fast as you can. Yeah, it doesn't work well.
Let us know what you end up with.
