Thumbs up Found a neat, old school, compact auto

It is a used (in great condition) satin nickel 2nd gen S&W 469. I have seen a few 469s in person and also a lot on the Internet, but never a satin nickel version (normally the model 469 is found in the standard blued finish). The model 669, is the same pistol in a satin stainless. I later read some old posts where S&W made some (something like less than 100 or so) model 469s in the satin nickel finish as a special order run. Mine didn't come with the factory box, so I don't really have any info on it. The trigger pull/feel is pretty nice on it and I'm thinking of using it a conceal carry piece. Need to get an IWB holster for it. It only came with one 12rd 9mm mag. I just ordered three more 12rd mags for it from MidwayUSA. I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet, but I pretty sure it is going to do well. The only negative, is the model 469 has an integrated front sight built into the slide, so getting a front night sight for it would take some gunsmithing. Here are a few pics of it:

    Nice catch!

Put a spot of bright red paint on that front sight and let it go. It really helps.

Oh no! If a Model 469 is old school then I'm a complete fossil as I recall with the Smith & Wesson Model 39 was the latest and greatest 9mm on the market.

Good looking pistole AZGlock13! I'd take one.

I bought one NIB in 1984 as am off duty carry,I hated the gun,the trigger pull came so far back I literally pinched the skin on my finger to get a shot off, only way to avoid it was to shoot with the very tip of my finger on the trigger,at that time I was 5'8" 145 and in great shape so I didn't have fat fingers or fleshy hands,at that time I traded it for a model 39.I do have a 6906 in my stable and havee no problem with the trigger

I had a 669 for off-duty carry. Bought in 1987, I really liked that gun and used it for 4-5 years. Hope it serves you well...

    Cool

    Old School likes old school.

Congrats on your new to you S&W.

Over the years I have carried a Model 39, 3906 and 6906 off duty and a 5906 on duty. All great weapons.

I really like my 3 Gen 4566 and 6906. Haven't shot the earlier models. Looks like a nice addition to me!

As for the sight, I've found a dab of DayGlo-Orange paint works wonders for sights, and costs @ $4.
