Paid for a Kahr cm9 today

Wisconsin will soon be a concealed carry state, so to get ready I went and bought a Kahr cm9 today, after the 2 day cooling off period, of course. should be called a 2 day getting excited period. I decided on the cm9 because it's not much larger than most 380's and smaller than most 9mm's, for sure smaller than my pt111. I really hated the tthought of having to buy .380 ammo. So by the week-end I should know if my deductive reasoning is any good.

I feel kind of sorry for you guys that live in a state with a waiting period. Last handgun I purchased took me less than 20 minutes to get including all the paperwork and NCIC check. Did the paperwork, put down the cash, and walked out with the gun!

Alittle off topic but how long is it gonna take for you to get your permits once you apply for them?

    Congrats on the Kahr.

    Congrats on the Kahr.
since the law doesn't go into effect until november, after the log jam of requests hits, i think it said 120 days, but i could be wrong, i was getting blurry eyed going through all paragraghs, sections, sub-sections and so on. i don't have any previous certificates and most instructors won't start any classes until they get more info from the state so we're trying to be patient here in this most progressive of states. so i have plenty of time to practice and search for a good holster, maybe iwb or ? oh yeah, of course with our 2 day law we are much safer than missouri. when i visited branson in may i was scared for my life with all them hot heads who never got the chance to cool off!!

I suggest you read and follow these 2 posts:
Proper Prep of your new Kahr
    Kahr Lube Chart

I'd say at least 50% of break-in issues with these tight hot-rods comes from failure to get them ready from the start.

Thanks everybody for the info, especially OldLincoln with prep and lube tips. sounds like typical poly gun cleaning but with some good specifics to Kahr's. i'll print it out for detailing. i can't wait to tear it down, my favorite part of getting a new gun.

It's good reasoning. Why have another ammo to buy, and size wise you are correct. You'll be glad you have it.

    Congrats ! !
