I've been thinking of trading in my S&W 9mm for a Glock 26, but wonder if this is a smart thing to do. At the range, with a range gun with who knows how many rounds through it, I shoot the G26 better than the Smith. Is this reason enough to trade? I can't keep both because of $$$$$ issues. Thanks for your thoughts.

If you find the Glock more comfortable and shoot better with it, then make the switch! I'm not a Glock guy, but it makes sense to use the tool that works best for you.
Now you done done it! Every fan boy from the far left(Glocks are the ultimate!) to the far right(The M&P has a better grip and hey, shop American!) is coming!
.......Where's my popcorn???

Why don't people ever consider the Glock 33? With a short barrel gun, you loose velocity as I'm sure you know. A G33 is a .357 Sig. Still a 9mm bullet but a .40 size case so it still has good velocity even with a short barrel. JMO

I have 1 Smith & Wesson

I have the S&W 9c and love it, however, I would go with the tool that works the best for you, being confident and sure of you're defense weapon is worth a lot these days.
Just cause you're paranoid, doesn't mean you're wrong....
Probaly not a good idea to trade anything if your dealing with a gun shop. But if you like the G26 then go for it. I have a 27. Like it very much.

G26 is a "sweet carry pistol"! If I'm not carrying Sig p239, I usually have g26 IWB.......really handy with shorts and t shirt!

Strange that you shoot the Glock better than the M&P, as I find the M&P to be just as accurate as the G26. I've trained several new shooters, and without exception they shot the M&P best, and ended up buying their own. Most did not care for the feeling of the Glock 26 (go figure). If at all possible, I would keep the M&P and train more with it, and save up for the G26. Unless you can sell it face to face, you will lose half the value if sold to a gun store.....and then you are in no better position than you are now.
If all Glocks were banned from the face of the earth, the M&P's are the ones I'd carry.

You already have an excellent carry pistol. You presumably have a holster for it, maybe some mags. Keep it, do some dry fire every night, and you'll be fine. If you keep changing guns every time you shoot something a bit better at the range you're gonna be switching guns all the time.
I collect ammo, not guns.
