    Update to Ruger SP101 3" .357

The Fed Ex man was good to me this week. I got a few goodies that turned my new SP101 into one of my new favorite carry pieces. I already had the Pachmayr grip, and decided to put it on. Installed the Mepro this morning. And also swapped out the hammer spring for a 10lb one. I hastily took a fluorescent paint pen to the rear "sight". I think it gives it a good contrast.

Got the Speer Gold Dot Short Barreled 135 grain .357 rounds today. From what I have read, and from vids I have seen on youtube, they are fairly mild recoil wise, but open up like crazy even from short barreled snubs. I am happy.

    Cool

Dude you did what I did to mine.

Great minds think in the same direction.

I used the 9 lb. spring with flawless ignition.

Gotta love an SP........ Really like your 3"

I like the longer barrel. Good call. Mepro on mine too. An un-flashed pic captured the glow.

Nice. I usually go with an XS, but I got a wild hair on this gun and decided to go with the Mepro instead.

Great choice on all counts.... Great looking SP-101...

Does the Meprolight front come pre-drilled?

BTW, the Pachmyar grips are almost identical to the CT lasergrips, if you decide to go that way...

Nice job! Just a word of advice, test fire it with that new spring before you carry.

I have run a 10lb Wolff spring without fail for about 6000 rounds combined (all reloads too by the way) through my other 5 Ruger DA Revos. Thanks for the kind suggestion though.

No, it does not come pre-drilled. Good to know about the lasers.....but I will pass on that....... No lasers for this guy.

Very nice. My wife and FIL both have them. They're tanks. My wife carries her's in a SafePacker in her car and on the trail. She trust it and is very accurate with it.

Now you went and did it! I've been wanting one also. Next Monday I'm probably going to the gun shop and see what I'd get and trade for my S&W 686 plus, .357, with the 6" barrel. Not a good CCW gun.

That's a nice pisto you have there. I keep trying to decide between one of those and a 3" S&W model 60.
