I bought a Yugo 24/47 Mauser from a local pawn shop. The bore was pretty dirty, but didn't appear to be pitted or damaged in any way. It was pretty obvious that the bore was a mix of old and newish residue. There was also a slight amount of cosmoline that someone failed to remove properly. It was pretty hard to clean, but I did eventually get it cleaned. I got a good deal considering they were asking the same price as JGSales/SOG minus shipping and a transfer fee. I would not have paid any more than what they were asking because the gun was dirty.

I feel like gun shops need to clean used guns. It makes them more appealing to customers and might even make the gun sell for more money. Pawn shops probably don't have the time or expertise to thoroughly clean a gun before putting it out on the shelf.
