I think the customer will be really happy with this one. Very understated. And it gives him the internal extractor with no additional "safeties". I do a lot of Scandium bobtails but this is one of my favorites.

is that a bobtailed FS frame? From the pics the proportions may be distorted. Looks like an Officers frame but I have never seen a bobtail on an OF so I had to ask.

No, not a stray just taking over from where S&W left off. I do a lot of these custom and the customer just was not happy with the external extractor or extra safeties. Of course I could deal with the safeties by just putting in a "series 70" spacer plate but that would have not dealt with the extractor. I like the Scandium guns just the way the come from S&W with a few changes. Most of the Bob-C.A.T. guns I do have Heinie sights, bobtail, target bushing and reliability and trigger work. And yes the pedigree on this one is a lot of "ED Brown this and Wilson that" but all that means is that the parts inside the gun are some of the best of the best. I guess that is why it is a custom. ;)
I am hoping to get to the range with this one before it goes home. And the barrel is a National Match by the way with a 60 degree target crown recessed.

And yes full sized Commander frame. I have done some bobtails and round tails on officer length guns. The last one I did was a SA EMP

Thanks. Customer got this one a couple of weeks ago and he is already carrying it daily. I love that my guns get used and scratched and shot. Not much into safe queens. I have another one I just finished that I will post pics of tomorrow. SA Lightweight Champion Bobtail. Hand checkered, trigger work, bobtail and a bit more. Finished in Duracoat Dark Warrior Earth (gray/green) and looking pretty intimidating. This one will be a duty gun for a local LEO to be carried concealed. Already did a full size for him when in uniform.
