Glock 36 or the XDM 45 for Concealed Carry

I am debating between the Glock 36 and the XDM 45 for Concealed Carry. (I have shot both guns and like the feel of them both) I have a friend who has a XDM 45 but when he wears it in his supertuck holster, I can see the butt of his gun printing with the slightest of movements. I know the XDM can hold 13 +1 but do I take more capacity and obvious printing or less capicity and not so obvious printing....... I wish Springfield would come out with a compact version od the XDM 45. Anyway, what do you all think?

Duh? or maybe a G30sf? I am kinda partial to them, not that I have one or anything.

+1 G36 and an extra magazine or a New York reload (LCP in weak side pocket). The XD is really big for concealed carry.

what works for one CCH might not work for another. different body builds require different concealment options. maybe it prints for him but you may not print using the same weapon and method. however this isn't really a fair match, the XDM is a full size service pistol and the G36 is a subcompact. despite my preference of SA over Glock the G36 has the floor on this one

    I had an XD45....no way I could ever conceal that, unless someone invents a buttcrack/taint holster. I'm 5'10" and 175lbs. That's a BIG OL' .45.
Great for the night stand or other uses, but probably too big for CC on most of the population.

Carry and really enjoy Glock 36 IWB at 4:00.

Never a problem with my G36.

two totatlly different size prospect there... G36 definitely more concealable... may wasnt to try G30 or Taurus PT145... Sprinfield may make the 45 there next compact; my guess it would still be 10 or 11 + 1... the G36 is single stack and meant to conceal the 45 XDM full size is a duty gun...

You may want to look at the xd45 compact, it has a shorter grip but will still accept full size magazines too. I believe it has a 4 inch barrel too. I might be a bit partial, I have one on hold at the gun store ( picking up next week). Fyi I currently coceal carry a H&K usp45 full size, so anything is doable.

I just sold my xd45compact. It does have a 4" barrel and double stack mag holding 10. Also comes with 13 rounder for FS grip. Thickness is similar to Glock 29, with the 29 being thicker. The 36 is thinner but it's a nominal amount for some. The XD is a load when full of 11 230 grain 45's.

Having held a 36 I would say 36 over the XD for concealability, but of course the XD gets the nod for compact capacity and the option for FS capacity.

The Glock-36 is an easily concealed, very dependable firearm. Of your two choices, the G-36 would be the obvious winner here.
I have one as my EDC, and have never thought that 6 + 1 is a problem...carry an extra mag!

I owned a XD40 and really liked it..a very smooth shooter. Great for home defence but to big and heavy to conceal, at least for me. I carry a Glock 26 now, and soon will add a Glock 29SF. I would recommend the Glock.

If Springfield had a true subcompact I will definitely consider it.

What I would really, really love is an XDM in 10mm! please....Springfield people.

The G36 conceals well and is very comfortable to carry IWB all day and then some. I have one in the line up. She is an accurate little beast too!
