I give up on a 9mm
The new Gen 4s have spring issues, so you hear. I have not tasted the Kool Aid as of yet. M&Ps can throw issues (mine is back at Smith). Cannot pony up for a 226 right now, and am unsure of the 2022. XDs seem huge, blocky. Cannot find HKs around here, and USP grips are huge anyway. Should I give up on finding a decent 9 and get the obligatory 1911? I wanted a 9 for economy. I do like the feel of the Gen 4s, but I also like the feel of the 2022 SIG. Tell me and sell me.

No you shouldn't give up. Don't be silly.
I know the XD seem huge but they really aren't. And they are much more ergonomic than the Glocks IMO. Take a look at the Kahr line of 9mm's. I carry a CW9 almost every day and I love it. Don't give up yet.

- Is there something about the Gen3 that you don't like? IMO, it's the best gun that Glock makes. No spring issues and none of the other issues that the Gen4 have.

You do realize that Glock is still actively manufacturing gen 3's right? Get a g19 and call it a day.

I guess I'm blessed I have a gen 3 & 4 19 & I have had no issues with either.
My generation 4 does have the 04 spring.

A Browning Hi Power is the nine I could love.
Ooops, and the Smith 3913, I forgot how much I like my sweetie's, but she doesn't let me play with it.

Ditto. The Browning Hi Power is one of my "must have" pieces. I got my first one in 1969 and have owned at least half-a-dozen since. I wouldn't be without one willingly.

I had some of the same problems as you and solved them by going to to a Glock 36 in 45acp,
I personally like it better than the Glock 19 3gen, just shoot better and conceals better for me.

LOL. I trust my life to a Gen3 G19, Gen3 G26, PF9, and a PM9. I briefly duty-carried an M9 when it was first adopted, and that seems to have worked well for those that followed after
. There are so many other 9's out there that I want, it's just sick.

on my fourth Glock 19 (all gen 2 and gen 3) , and have never had a failure in all the rounds I've fired. From what I understand the ex wife that got my others has not had an issues with any of the ones that used to be mine. Damn. Why didn't go out and trade for a bunch of Hi-Points before her attorney took inventory of my firearms.
I second, third and fourth the vote for a Gen 3 G19.

Ha ha! A fine pic to go with the whine, hawk Glock. I was unaware that Gen 3s were still to be had. I have only seen 4s. The local dealer (stealer, I should say, crooks) has no 3s that I have seen. When I want something new, I pick it out at the aforementioned den of thieves, and then order it from another place of business which, while open to the public, is little known of to the mildly interested. OK, we will see about a 19 3. Many thanks.
