    Which 1911?

Since it is the anniversary this year of the 1911, and I wont be able to get my custom Nighthawk until next year.I will be buying a 1911 to carry.

This will be a EDC...I have narrowed it down to:

    Ruger SR1911 (love the looks)
    SW E Series 1911SC
    Springfield Loaded Champion
    Colt XSE Commander

If anyone has anything else they would recommend., let me know;)

I just want some opinions:) I am leaning towards the Colt XSE Commander or Springfield Loaded Champion right now....But the Ruger looks awesome...

    thanks

I have the SA Loaded Champion, so it gets my vote.

I vote the Smith...'cause I'm a S&W guy and I really like my SW1911, assume the "E" model would be swell too!

Take a look at the Wiley Clapp Commander.

I cannot speak for those listed since I don;t own one, but since you asked for other suggestions I will say the Dan Wesson VBOB or CCO. Love them both and the CCO is about to become the EDC.

I held the S&W E series 1911sc this past Friday and let me tell you...that thing is sweet. Out of the 4 you listed, the S&W gets my vote. It has every possible feature you could get on there at a decent price. It was listed at $1295 at my local shop. I'm sure you can get it cheaper online.

I would love to own a Dan Wesson CCO or VBob, but what are the prices like? I thought they were more in the close to 2,000 range?

The black duty coat DW's are around 1750-1800. Mine is the Stainless version and they can be found under 1500. The CCO can be found for under 1300. I saw a used (barely) stainless VBOB online two weeks ago for $1150.

I'm also partial to the Dan Wesson. My EDC is a Classic Commander Bobtail. Unfortunately they discontinued it in 2010 and replaced it with the V-Bob.

My C-Bob replaced a Springfield Loaded Champion. It's a good gun, but not in the same class with the DW.

Still breaking it in. Only about 275 rounds through it so far. I have a Garrity Gunleather IWB holster for it. I'll post soon.

    What about a Colt Defender?

    Here's a standard one:
