You should definitely handle before purchasing.
    I have a G26 Gen4 and love it.
In my opinion, much improved grip frame and magazine release.
    Plus 3 magazines.
I highly recommend installing GAP Finger Rest Extensions on them.
Just bought the gun in August.
Ran 250 rounds of mixed ammo thru it this past Sunday.
    Very accurate and reliable.
Carry method is in Remora holster for summer.

Like the others have said, try before you buy - better yet, rent/borrow-to-fire (several hundred rounds), before you buy.

The former is like sitting in the showroom or a car-show. The latter akin to taking a test-drive.

I don't use my gun nearly as enough as I would use my car, but I depend on the gun more than the car, for my life. I'm not going to buy without trying.

All of your choices are top-notch defensive pistols. Just go with the one that works for you.

I would take the xd40. My brother-in-law has a glock (don't know what model). He swore by it until he fired mine. He kicked the glock to the curb and now carries a xd40 subcompact. I absolutely love mine!

It's important to get a feel for the weapons yourself.
You may not have the priviledge to fire each one but give them a feel at the shop.

All of the above mentioned pistols are great. I would stick with a 9mm unless you really want a .40 cal. I carry a Glock 27 all the time, its a great gun but the .40 has some kick to it. If I had to do it over again I would have gone with the 9mm.
