    Underrated Handguns

I’m curious as to forum member’s opinions on the most overrated and underrated handgun manufacturers.

This is not meant to knock anyone’s personal choices for firearms, just to better gauge perceptions of various handgun manufacturers.

Certain manufacturers have been purposefully put on one or the other poll. We all know Glocks are highly regarded so it is going on the list of manufacturers that people can vote for overrated. Once again, I am not saying that they are overrated, but most here would agree that Glock doesn’t belong on the underrated voting list because they are so highly regarded by so many.

On the flip side, Hi Point is on the underrated voting list. Hi Points are widely regarded as pieces of junk that work. And we all know that Hi Point doesn’t have a fanatical following like Glocks.

If I missed a major manufacturer sorry, add it on to the Other category.

And please tell us why you think the manufacturer you voted for is underrated.

I voted for Rock Island. Their 1911 line seems to offer very serviceable pistols. I've seen a total of 3 of their 1911s and all featured quite decent triggers and have given dependable service over several years' time.

I voted for Bersa. They make inexpensive little guns yet I have almost never heard a bad thing about them, and from personal experience I can say they work well.

Please excuse my typo in the poll question. If a moderator can correct that please do because I don't know how.

    I voted RIA.
Although they have a bit of a "cult" following, the popular opinion seems to be that they are not as "good" as the larger brands.
    I own two.

I voted RIA also; contrary to some opinions they are reliable low cost guns with superior customer service.

Had to go with CZ. A big part of it has to be the fact they were locked behind the iron curtain for many years. They build a high quality product, outstanding reliability, excellent ergonomics and a decent price.

I voted for CZ. They make a great product as does RIA. I own an RIA 1911 and a CZ 452 so I have firsthand experience with what each company makes. I was torn as to who to vote for, and flipped a coin.

I voted RIA also. I remember where someone on one of the gun forums posted a comparison between a RIA tactical and a Springfield Armory GI (If I remember correctly) and the RIA actually looked to be better built, yet was less expensive. Again just from what I remember reading and seeing. God Bless

I voted Other. I would add Kahr to the list.

I voted most overrated sig and most underrated ruger.
I know that sig has a cult following online but I cant say I've ever met a single sig fan in person. everyone knocks rugers but they have really gotten thier act together these last few years.
also a company that really should have been on the underrated list is springfield/affiliates. the XD/XDM line is way underrated and far too many people make judgments and accusations based on their earlier models.
