Honestly, if you're holding the gun in a way that you are not fully depressing the grip safety, then you aren't holding it properly. There really is zero resistance on the grip safety spring, and once you've got a good firing grip on the pistol it is disengaged.
This is one of the reasons I actually PREFER the XD over Glocks.

Other than the usual low end junk the only gun I know for sure I'll never own is a Kimber 1911.

Adding to my list. Most 1911's

I'll never own a Glock, at least if I have to pay for it. I just don't like how they feel.
I'll never get another Brolin. Had a Brolin-1911 (.45ACP) that was pure junk.

A Browning BAR! Not because I don't want one tho.
Guns I will never own, or own again:
Sterling 22 pistol, Zam-a-matic (owned one)
Hi-Point or similar type quality too heavy and just looks fugly
Desert Eagle was waaaay too heavy for me to shoulder carry. (owned one)
Top break revolvers (the "suicide special" ones ove a age gone past)
Not being discriminatory here, just had my fill of certain ones
Why Waltz when you can Rock-N-Roll
I'm not likely to ever buy another DA/SA model again (SIG, HK, yada yada) although a model which CAN be carried cocked and locked (like a 1911), even if a DA/SA otherwise might get a pass from me.
Not likely to ever buy another XD. The bore axis high up in the clouds feels totally wrong to me. Not sure I want a grip safety on anything other than a 1911 either.
Will probably never buy another Kimber again, certainly never any Kimber 1911 with a "II" at the end of it's name (Swartz FP safety gizmo).
Budget brands of any firearm type... nope; just not for me.
My defense pistol needs are exceptionally well met with Glocks, M&Ps, and 1911s (mostly Colts). There isn't another defensive carry brand/type that lures me beyond Glock, M&P, and 1911.
I will continue to be open to buying Colt 1911's, Glocks, and M&P's, although I already have more than enough of all of these offerings to last the rest of my life. My pistol buying has slowed to a verrry sloooow crawwwwwl.
Don't need any more defense shotguns. Don't need any more M4s. My Ruger Gunsite Scout is a great .308, yet I could be persuaded into another .308 platform of some sort.
Now, let's talk sporting clay shotguns! There are new horizons awaiting me there, for sure!I'm just getting started on those puppies!

I won't own anything from the above manufacturers. Certainly doesn't mean those manufacturers don't make adequate firearms, however.
Minigun, only cuz they are outta my budget
