    Finally got an SR1911

Been looking for an SR1911 for a while with no luck until last Wednesday. I had an appointment at the VA Clinic in Fayetteville and since I was in the neighborhood I went to Gander Mountain. After perusing the counters seeing none I asked the salesman if they expected getting some in. He then disappeared to the back and shortly came back with one in hand. After filling out the paperwork and paying it is now mine.

Finally had a chance to take it to the range today for a test drive, pure pleasure. First few rounds were kind of spread out until I got used to the trigger then proceeded to remove the 10 and X rings of a B-27 target. Went through 100 rounds of Winchester white box, no FTF or FTE with either mag. This one is a keeper and after finding which SD round it prefers it will join the EDC rotation.

Nice looking gun. Keep us posted on how it does for you.

Probably the next thing on my shortlist. I was going to buy one but ended up with a Springfield Mill-Spec SS.

I think you made a good choice. And Ruger service, should you need it, is pretty awesome.

For the money, that looks hard to beat - and made here in the US of A. If I ever break down and get a 1911, it will likely be this.

Beautiful gun indeed. I had a chance to fondle one in my LGS and it is a nice firearm. If only they would checker the front strap it would be perfect.

Very nice, I'm green with envy. I'm on the list at my LGS but there is no joy in Mudville - yet.

Congrats on the new Ruger! I am in the same boat as rammerjammer. Figure I can support the local Ruger plant. It would be cool to own a 1911 that was made about 2 miles down the road from my house.
