I've carried a Glock 19 a great deal since I retired three years ago.
I find that its about as good as it get if you stick the right ammo in it.
Glocks are, as is retirement from 33 years of LE, highly under rated.

I, too, love my G19 - awesome gun. I carry it often and when I don't it's my 26. Interesting thing is I also have a G17 and shoot IDPA and IPSC competition. I have experimented with both the 17 and 19 in various matches. Logic says the 17 should be better because of longer sight plane and a little heavier gun. Most guys who shoot a Glock 9mm in competition shoot the 17 or 34 - the bigger guns being an advantage. But for me, I just shoot the 19 better. Not sure why, but I'm faster and more accurate with it than my 17. Sometimes other shooters at the match kind of chuckle when they see I'm shooting a 19 - they don't view it as a serious competition weapon. I couldn't care less. I shoot it better and will continue to compete with it. It's my favorite Glock of all of them - I've had the
17, 19, 26, 22, 23, and 36. You can't go wrong with the 19.

been a glock man for 16 years. started with a g17, then g19, then g26 as backup. move over to the g22, then g23, with a g27 as backup. carry the g22 and g27 on duty these days. i have never had any problem with my glocks (per and/or issue). also i got a g36 and g30. they are just as good as the 9/40 cal glocks.
Its amazing! Last year this was a mosty 1911 carrying board. "I feel a disturbance in the force", and it feels good.
I still wont favor 1911 or Glock. Its like favoring one of your children over the another.
Congrats on the GLOCK.....
How did it function better with one ammo over another?

Despite disliking Glocks in general, I love the G19. Good choice.
