Who here carries/carried an "under-rated" handgun?

    I certainly do.
An FIE Titan in .25 automatic that's usually my primary.
I'll carry my 38 Special derringer (also made by FIE) for smaller chores like going to the store and back.
Sometimes I'll carry my Forehand Arms .32 S&W-Long revolver (dated sometime between 1896 to 1904) in an IWB holster I modified.

    Wow. Good luck with that.
It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

Yeah, it's working out for him, clear up until the time he pulls that .25 acp out to save his life.

I have a friend who is an inner city metro firefighter who was standing out on the apron (driveway) in front of the station one evening in the inner city when some banger walking down the street took a pot shot at him with a .25 acp and struck him in the forehead.

It bounced off his forehead, made him buckle his knees (but stayed on his feet), and only needed a bandaid. The slug was lying on the ground about 4 feet in front of him. Three other firefighters chased the hoodlum down on foot and beat the crap out of him. Cops charged him with agg assault on a public servant.

Dry sarcasm doesn't always translate well on a forum. I assumed the OP was just yanking chains, and responded in kind.

I'd nix the .25, but the others--I couldn't criticize really. If you are happy, then great. You are a heckuva lot better off than the minions of sheep out there that are unarmed. Convenience and concealability are worth something.

A .32 or .38 on the hip is better than a .45 on the store shelf, when its all you have.

I have a Taurus PLY22 in my pocket right now. It's mostly what I carry now.

I repeat the challenge I made a while back on this forum, among others. Please give me documented incidents where a Private Citizen was killed or seriously injured after shooting their attacker with a "mousegun." Heretofore, the silence has been deafening but I am open to new data. Shoulda, Woulda, Couldas (Shoulda had a bigger gun because if the attacker Woulda been more motivated it Coulda turned out differently) aren't what I am looking for.

I'm definitely not saying mouseguns don't have their place or can't work to defend yourself with. It's just that the .25 acp in particular has a notorious reputation of just giving someone a nasty disposition.

I'd much rather carry a .32 acp or even a .22LR over a .25 auto. Both of those have a much better reputation of working over the .25 auto.

Not only can I not produce a single example, my edc guns are waaaaay to big, and I carry entirely too much ammo.

I regularly carry the S&W Bodyguard .380 when dress requires it.

That's as puny as I'd go, though...

Well, I don't think he's on this forum but I know of a man named Leroy Brown that kept a .32 in his pocket and a razor in his shoe and he's the baddest man in the whole damn town.

    Now Leroy he a gambler
And he like his fancy clothes
And he like to wave his diamond rings
    In front of everybody's nose
    He got a custom Continental
    He got an Eldorado too
He got a 32 gun in his pocket for fun
He got a razor in his shoe
Just goes to show you that you don't have to carry around a hand canon and you don't have to have big high dollar Benchmade knives to get the job done.

Also note, a man can have a tremendous affect on the outcome of an event if he has enough motivation.

Don't believe me, just ask Leroy.
