Is the small gen 4 back-strap enough of a difference from the gen 3 to change someones mind about glocks not "fitting" their hand?

I don't know what people mean by Glocks not fitting their hand. I have freakishly small hands and never had any trouble even with the huge G30 grip. The Gen4 grip is definitely a bit thinner than the Gen3 grip.

I have spent considerable dry-fire time figuring out better ways to make my hands fit my pistols. My hands quickly learned to fit my 19 Gen4 and my 17 3rd generation. I usually have a harder time making the sub-compacts and micros fit than I do with the compacts and full-sized pistols.

Given your options, there was no wrong choice. My Glock 19 Gen4 is with me all the time.

You better believe it. I have had Gen 3s for years and they fit my small hands ok. I could shoot them good enough. Then I picked up a new Gen 4 Glock22 and WOW! I couldnt get over how much better it felt. Not only is the grip smaller from front to back, it also feels thinner. Along with the new grip texture this gun is perfect for me. I sold my Gen3 and the new G22 has become my EDC.

The Ruger MKIII 22/45 is the worst handgun in history to take apart, but is one of the funnest to shoot...

I keep putting off checking out the Gen4s. I'm afraid they'll fit my hands better and I'll be jonesing for one!

Congrats on your new purchase. I have the Glock 22 Gen 4 and have been very happy with it so far. I plan on adding the Glock 23 and Glock 27 to the family shortly. While not a Glock fan boy, I am a die hard S&W hater, so I applaud your decision to not send them any of your money.

That isn't the only thing I would be afraid of. How about consistent FTF's and ejecting brass at your face?
