My rational for another handgun purchased.....I really don't need one!

I Really don't need another 9mm handgun but this police trade-in S&W 5906 was in such nice shape and I talked them down $15 and made them eat the tax and thrown in a box of 9mm too boot. Got it OTD for $321.

All stainless, Novak sights, really clean overall and the internals/bore look almost new. It appears to have been carried a lot and shot little (typical for most LEO handguns it seems). Grips have some wear and slide a bit of holster wear but I would rate this gun in very good plus condition. The 3rd generation Smith's are built like tanks. I happen to have a Marlin Camp 9 carbine and they also use the 59 series S&W mags so I have several 15 round high quality Mecgar mags that will work with the 5906.

That's a nice pistol, can't blame you one bit. If I happened upon one like that for that price, I don't think I could pass it up either.

Nice pistol ! I picked one up from GB.com, shoots great now, had trouble with it ejecting, had to send it to S&W for repairs. I was told that the part that grabs the rim of the case almost had to be hand fitted to each pistol. S&W repaied it and shipped it back to me at no cost, that was very nice of them. Great company, will buy more of their products!!!

Sweet pistol! I've always liked that generation of S&W. Don't feel bad. Many of us have made a purchase based soley on the deal and not the "need". I know that I have. Sometimes you just cannot pass it up.

    Good luck with it!

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
