Trying to decide for ccw. Any ideas?
This is a discussion on OK I'm going to do it. Glock 30/36 vs 1911 poll within the Defensive Carry Guns forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; Trying to decide for ccw. Any ideas?...
Glock 30/36

Trying to decide for ccw. Any ideas?
I loathe molded plastic, light weight, and DAO triggers and love all-steel, single-action triggers, and John Browning designs so this was easy.

I don't know why you need our opinion on this one.
How about you choose the one you like best, shoot best, is the most comfortable to carry, etc., etc.?

I want a Colt Defender but when you factor in weight, capacity, and price..the Glock wins. But. that defender is a sexy piece of firearm!
It's difficult to imagine that the weight of a Colt Defender could be considered heavy enough to be detrimental.

Easy choice, 1911.

Easy choice Glock. Or just get what you want, not what we like.

My preference would be another 1911.
Of course you could get one of each.

I've had and carried a 1911, Glock 30, and Glock 36...I sold all but the Glock 36. Nice little carry gun that handles the round well. I could carry the 1911 fine, but I didn't care for a single action carry gun with a thumb safety and grip safety. Too many things to mess with in case your hand was injured. The G36 is small and simple. Point and shoot. I liked the way the G30 shot, but the slide was just too thick to carry IWB for me. I loved my 1911 for range and occasional carry, but .45 is expensive for a range gun. Too many 1911-22s on the market to enjoy the platform inexpensively.

Guns are like sex and air...its no big deal until YOU can't get any.
How much do you want to spend? How much 115% dependability do you want? What fits your circumstances best? You like ice cream and I like ice cream. But, do you like chocolate or vanilla ice cream? I like strawberry so we will buy neapolitan![]()
Have 1911 and Glock 36 and much rather shoot and carry Glock 36.
NOT LIVING IN FEAR, JUST READY!!!
It's all about priorities.
I own both and still prefer to carry my 1911 over the 36.
