Walther PPS 9mm.(Honest honey, it just followed me home!)

I've been on a quest for the perfect(Yeah, I know) single stack compact 9mm. It started when my wife got her Taurus 709. I liked almost everything about it but the grip depth(trigger break to back of grip) was just too short.

Then I heard about the Walther PPS and after some one on one time with one over the sales counter I decide I liked everything about it but the price.

Then the Beretta Nano videos surfaced and I though "Man, that might be the one!". I am not thrilled about the internal lock but that's not really a deal breaker and the MSRP is more reasonable. Unfortunately I have not been able to handle one yet.

Then The Bersa BP9MCC hit the scene and there are actually a few reviews on the interwebz from owners and not Rag Reviewers. Again, not perfect as I don't like the mag disconnect. But, again not a deal breaker and the MSRP is significantly lower than the Walther or the Beretta.

So I go to the LGS today to see if there is any chance that they may have acquired the Bersa or the Beretta yet. No such luck! As I am talking to the manager and one of the sales guys, I ask if they have any idea when they might be able to get their hands on one or the other. They both ask why I don't want the PPS. I said that I indeed wanted the PPS but just couldn't justify the price. Well, that jack hat of a manager said "What if I gave you a new PPS 9mm with 2 magazines for $480.00?" I asked if he new a good divorce lawyer and started filling out the NICS paper work!

I know the thread is meaningless without pics so here ya go

I just have a feeling that this isn't really the end of my search so much as the end of this chapter!

Great deal on a great gun

Congrats!...that's a great deal with the two mags. With these finally coming down in price, I predict a lot more people will be carrying them soon. I'd luv to have one myself and hear they are great shooters.

I'll get it to the range in a couple of days. I want to clean it thoroughly and treat it with Eezox first. I'll post a range report but I'm not sure what good anyone will get from a retelling of my mediocre shooting!

glad to see Walther dropping the price on the PPS. The only reason that the PPS does not have a greater following is because of the price point. IMO, the PPS is the Cadillac of single stack 9mm/40.

Nice deal on a great pistol.

Does the PPS grip plus magazine look a little long? Are there flush mags?

Im jealous of your buy! Mine sure cost a lot more two years ago! Enjoy it, it is a great firearm to carry and a fun one to shoot at that.

OMG, I paid quite a bit more for mine. Was it NIB? If so, I officially hate you.

He assured me that it is NIB. It appears to be once fired(as near as I can tell) the feed ramp is spotless and the bore is clean but there is a bit of brass residue on the bottom of the slide from feeding. No external blems at all.
