Financial Collapse or Natural Disaster Pick Your Handgun Caliber and What Gun!

I think for me it would be a 357 mag Revolver 4":

    1. Easy to reload
    2. Cases easier to retrieve
    3. Powerful enough for any duty
    4. Great defense weapon
    5. 38sp or 357mag
    6. Pick a Ruger convertible and you can add 9mm

9mm. Not my favorite but plenty good. Ammo grows on trees. SIG is my preference, but Glocks, M&Ps, HKs, all are equally good.

What gun? .38/357 capable revolver. [sarcasm] Then steal a lever action .357 lever rifle. Then steal a 12 G semi auto. Then a 9 mm carbine. Then an AR .223. [/sarcasm]

See bold type above. Add a carbine in either caliber and most situations a person might need a firearm for could be covered.
Having a choice of two common calibers would make finding ammo a bit easier.

First out is the Hi-Point 4595 Carbine in .45ACP {Good for 50yds},then comes the old Marlin Goose Gun with a big bunch of 00 Buck {Long range shooter},after that if anybody`s left to play, it`s 1911 time!!!. I have several with a boatload of loaded mags and about 4,000rnds of ammo which will ensure a Good Time. I just want to be left alone and will enforce that Bigtime. Molon Labe.

9mm I guess. Very plentiful, and I have lots of it too. Glock 19.

Would have to go with a caliber that the military uses. That would assure a constant availability of ammo.

The simple answer is that we will all go with what we've already got. So plan ahead or plan to fail. :)

Probably my PX4 40 start, then on to the Walter 9mm due to plenty of ammo around.
