    Berreta M9 vs 92fs

Is there anyone here that can explain the difference between the M9 and the 92fs. I thought it was just a matter of the civilian and military terminology but Betetta offers them as two seperate models. Thanks

I bet if you google it you will find things on other forums and youtube videos comparing the two for you.

My M9 had a metal spring guide rod;,my 92fs has a polymer guide rod.

Doesn't "polymer" sound better than "plastic"?

Well I did go to you tube and look at some of the differences and there just isn't much. Less lawyer talk on the M9 and a slightly different shape to the dust cover. The only obvious difference is the sights with the M9 having a two dot sight and the 92fs having a 3 dot sight. No one mentioned the guide rod. One mentioned their 92fs being made in Italy rather than the USA but I've seen them listed online as being available made in either location.

My M9 has a plastic guide rod. You are right on the sights and dustcover.

Seems odd that, at least at Bud's, the M9 is about $30 more than the 92fs. Honestly, the differences don't seem to me to be significant enough to be offering them as seperate models.

Also the 92fs is made in Italy (I thought) while the M9 is made in the USA

From the listings I've seen the 92fs is available as an Italian made model or USA made model.
