Being a Glock-o-phile the answer to this is pretty easy, Glock 19. But as a runner up I would choose a .357 mag in some sort of S&W or Ruger flavor.
    Glock 26 9mm, Ruger LCR .357mag

    In a normal situation - G30 with G21 mags. If I expected a EOTWAWKI scenario - G21 with G21 mags.

For me it would be the M&P 40c. Solid firearm.

Gen 3 G 17,not my first choice for S.D.,I prefer a G23,but the 9mm ammo is all over the world, and, the G17 just works.

Either my Ruger GP100 with 4" barrel or SP101 with 3" barrel.

You just can't beat a .357 for an all around do anything round. Self defense, hunting or plinking, it does it all as well as anything else.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Same as now, Springfield XD9 4". It isn't my only pistol, but it does most of my work (range, training, defense).

Right now, my G30SF. Conceals well, accurate enough, easy to operate, 13+1 capacity if needed, light rail, .45ACP ;), reliable, it's a Glock, easy to field strip/clean.... it goes on forever. I'm about to buy a G19 Gen3 RTF in a few weeks, so the G19 might be my "if you were to only pick one" gun. We'll see. Right now, it's by far my G30SF. Only thing the G19 has over the G30 is capacity and thinness, IMO.

Colt Delta Elite, slim for CC, hot solid loads are powerful enough for 4 legged predators (except brown bears), and hunting, lighter loads in the .40S&W range for urban carry/personal defense, plenty of replacement/custom parts, mega holster options, perfected ergonomics.
