Any impressions on this gun? My friend just sent me the link and I can't help wanting this gun too. Too many guns and not enough money. Anyway, anyone know much about this gun?

Here is the link for those who want it:

I'm debating whether to get one.

The XDs have a good rep for reliability.

I actually did a poll on another gunboard - had about 100
responses - total of about 90,000 rounds reported fired.

I saw that poll, but didnt like the wording of the choices and didnt vote.

I have put over 2500 rounds through my XD .45, and have had 0 failures of any kind. I have run tactical courses, several training courses, and many many days of range shooting, and absolutly love this handgun. I shot my CCW qualifying with it and scored 250 of 250.

I have nothing negative to say about it, except that mine isnt the two-tone model like my xd.40.

I love my XD45! It costs too much to shoot as often as I'd like. Mine's barely broken in with 600 rounds through it, so even though I've had no failures or issues, I can't comment on true reliability yet. But it's looking good.

I love this gun!!! It's accurate, and the recoil is very manageable. I shoot the XD 45 better than my 9mms. I like my Beretta, and my 2 Glocks. But I love the XD.

I don't have one but I'm trying to get my father to buy one. I love my Sig 220 too much and need the money for other stuff. But my dad needs a good handgun.

The ergos on all the XDs are great and I would prefer an XD to a Glock. The ammo capacity on the XD 45 is amazing for the size. It's hard to tell a difference in size compared to the other XDs. I'd love to have a Bi-Tone Tactical for a nightstand gun.

to glockish for my taste but it does seem to have good reviews from others.

I've got one and love it. Here's a thread with a range report:

Get it when you raise the cash and you won't regret it.

I have the 5" tac. Its my first striker fired pistol. The trigger really supprised me. I expected it to be mushy but it's fairly crisp. The grip is probably the thinnest you will find on a double stacked .45. I still find it's a little big for my smallish hands but it was reasonable enough that I bought it. It has been 100% reliable for me even with the infamous wolf ammo. I see more xd-s in my future.

Have had my XD45 for 3-months now. About 400 rounds w/o any problems. Feed it the cheap stuff all the way to Speer Gold Dots. Note that I also have an H&K USP 9mm which also hasn't had any issues. I wish you well in finding what fits best and meets your budgetary means.

as an affordable massed produced , dependable hi-capacity gun . it hits the nail square on the head . i joined an indoor range just so could shoot it and others . plus practice my 1911 .

i researched it pretty heavy found a good price below 500 from dealer friend . but i did not like shooting it . it felt twangy like spring vibe and i couldn't reaquire the trigger well . also with the mag out the grip is spongey .

if my choices were it or a glock or a sig i would take the xd without blinking .
in reply to another thread lets hope the BG's don't start using these .

oh and i only fired a 100 rounds , but don't think my opinion would differ much .it just didn't suit me . and that did dissapoint me.

I recently bought 1 and absolutely love it. Fits me well, the grip fills my hand and shooting is smooth and crisp.

You can do a lot worse but not a lot better.

Not much I can add, but that I have the xd45 service model and loved xd's ergo's from the first time I held one. I also had an xd45sc and it was great except that I wanted a 45.
