    Ruger P89DC

What is the proper way to carry this gun since it has no safety. Can it safely be carried in a strong side holster in condition 1, or leave the chamber empty and rack the slide when needed? I haven't bought the gun yet, but have it on loan to see if I want to buy it. It's 15 years old and in good shape, he is asking $250 is that a good price? I carry my Kimber cocked and locked, so that doesn't bother me. Mike

NO!, This gun should not be carried cocked. Thats what the de-cocking lever is for. Cocked, the gun has a light trigger pull and with no safety it will go boom. It shoots in double action mode so thats how it should be carried safely with a round in the pipe. I own own a P91DC. Never had a failure with over 2000 rounds through it. Easy to break down highly durable and it is my primary carry gun. Many times, I have been in the gun shop hoping to find a replacement, but, have never been able to muster enough courage to get rid of "Old Faithful"...

I personally wouldn't offer anything over $225 for it and that would be if it were in basically new shape w/ the box, papers, etc.... If it's gun only and in alright shape then no more than $200.

I would definately not carry it condition 1. Condition 2 is the way to carry this pistol (hammer down with round in the chamber).

As the others have said, carry it hammer down with a round in the chamber and you'll be fine.
