    Old S&W info?

Hi all. My mother recently gave me my grandfather's S&W 32. Looking for some info on it if possible. Barrel information is "Premier 32 S.& W. CTGE. Top bar info is "Harrington & Richardson Arms Company, Worcester, Mass. U.S.A. Pat. Oct. 8, 1895. Butt serial # 2202##. The S&W Company wants $50.00 for history. I think not! Thanks to anyone that can check in their ref book..

Well, it would be a waste of money to send a check to Smith & Wesson - since your gun is a Harrington & Richardson! The caliber, however, is .32 S&W.

Just Google H&R .32 revolvers... you'll get plenty of hits.

The $50 is only if you want a letter stating the history.

You can call their customer service and talk to their customer service and they will give you the info verbally for no charge.

Just went through this again with a few guns last week.

As Gasmitty pointed out it is NOT a Smith and Wesson. H&R made thousands of these pistols over the years and, unless 80% or better, have little value. Current factory .32 S&W factory ammo is loaded to black powder specs and safe to shoot in your revolver if it is in good mechanical condition.
