I'll bet he ain't got a HiPoint in his collection,built like a brick,under $1000 can be gotten in 380,9mm,45 acp,won't wanta carry it.
Actually,the Sigs aren't too bad I have a 2022 and a 229 both in 40 but can be found in 9mm,theres a lot of people lean towards the Sig 220 45acp,One big deal is how much hand strength does he have,would he have problem racking a slide,or operating any thumb safety?
I would also suggest looking at the M&P series,they have a picatinny rail on the front

I'm in agreement with the CZ recommendation. I like sig too but a CZ 75 compact would run about 500, leaving room for a NICE laser or combo. Also, the 75 just sings to me.

Went to the local dealer today to see what they had. Looked hard at the Sig 229, but then held a HK P30. He fell in love with it. It gripped well and had a very nice balance. Walked out the door with it.
