For semi-autos, I take the time to learn how to break it down, make sure that it's clean and lubed with the products I use, then run about 250 rounds of FMJ through it to get all the parts seated. I clean it again, then do the same with my choice of hollow point carry ammo.

Revolvers--I just go shoot the darn thing!

    Cheers!

Convince my wife that Glocks number 3, 4, and 5...were still Glocks number 1 and 2...
Then I clean it, shoot it, clean it again, and add it to the collection.

I'm another one of the "Read The Manual" guys! I do skip the manufacturers CYA crap though. Then I fondle the gun, caress it, drool over it, disassemble and clean it, lube and reassemble it, dry fire it a few times, then head to the range.
