    New Glock 19

I just got a Glock 19 as a Christmas gift from my parents. The only downside is that the 200 rounds of Winchester White Box they got didn't last long at all. And I need to work on my grip since I was getting a little bit of brass in the face.

I'm figuring on getting the extended slide release and probably some new sights. The stock mag release was ok, but I might pick up the extended one, though probably not.

Overall, it's a great little gun.

Congrats. I'm not a Glock dude, but I've been eyeballing the 19 and the 30SF.

I'm not sure that grip has much to do with getting hit by brass. On a 1911, it means the extractor needs tweaked a bit.

I picked up a Gen4 Glock 19 back in July. I shot pretty well and then I put a Ghost Ultimate in it. It shoots like a dream and I would put it against any trigger. It has just the right pull and breaks clean and smooth. The best is it only cost me about $25.

if you are getting hit with brass in the face youneed more ass behind the gun. Don't limp wrist. This is a sure way to jam a glock 19. If its a carry gun, stay away from extended mag releases. i know a number of guys who have had the mags released with those while ccwing in holster. If its just a range gun you can put an extended mag release if you want.

enjoy the new gun. It was my first self loading pistol. I got it as a college grad gift to myself back in 2005

Do yourself a favor: put at least 2000 rounds through that gun before you start "improving" it. Extended magazine releases do exactly what they are advertised to do: release the magazine - often when you least desire that result. Skip that mod and learn to shoot what you have.

I would make no changes beyond a Ghost connector and a set of night sights.

Is the gun new or used? If it is new, the brass to the face probably isn't shooter-induced. What ejector is in the gun?

    Awesome gun!
The tail end of your slide is the best slide release you can get.

Speak the truth but leave immediately after.

Brasidas caught a mouse among some figs, and, when he got bitten, let it go. To those who were present, he said, "There is nothing so small that it does not save its life if it has the courage to defend itself against those who would lay hand on it."

New. No idea. I'm out of town for Christmas. I'll have it home with my work bench in a day or so for some disassembly and cleaning.
