Great pickup. $340 is a very good deal on a 3rd Gen. Smith in this fine a condition. These used Smith and Wessons are an exceptional value for a very high quality handgun.

Ha, ha. I agree. This is my 5th Smitty 3rd gen in the last year or so. If you can find a good deal on one, they are absolute beasts. Just tried this one out, and yes, it feeds empty cases just like the others do. Here are my other 3rd gen guns:

Don't have a picture of the 1006 on it's own. Actually thinking about maybe altering the mags, and having the barrel of the 4053 bored out so that I can shoot 10mm in this thing. That would be a sweet carry piece IMHO.

Always liked the 3rd gen s&w autos; Owned a 4516-2 (compact .45 SA/DA) not too long ago myself. These guns are uber reliable and aside from being really heavy, they're great. You will enjoy it.

The 3rd gen Smith autos are excellent. Your 4053 looks very fine indeed. Nice deal, too. The alloy-frame versions, like my 915 are not too heavy to carry. Hope you enjoy your new acquisition. It will run as long as you want it to.
