Have the issues been corrected? I have a chance to get one with no money lost or gained. Is this a good move? THanks

Gen 4s still aren't to the level that pre 2010 gen 3s are. I assume your current gun has proven reliable.
If that is the case, is it worth it to trade a gun that works for one that will probably work and has a slightly better mag release and texture?
I collect ammo, not guns.
I own a Gen 3 G19, and I certainly wouldn't make that trade.
keep the Gen 3.
Kimbers are the guns you show your friends....Glocks are the ones you show your enemies.
It depends. What's is it that doesn't work for you on the Gen 3?
If there is a feature on the Gen 4 that makes it more useful to you, then yes.
If you simply want to "upgrade", then no.
Personally, there is no feature on the Gen 4 that would induce me to get rid of a Gen 3.

I bought a Gen 3 from a guy who was trading up to a gen 4. A RoadRunner71 said, "is a feature on the Gen 4 that makes it more useful to you?" In his case, he discovered that he shoots much more accurately left handed and the magazine release on the gen 4 can be configured for left handed operation.
THank you all for the replies. My Gen3 has been flawless. It was purchased jan 2010, so I do not know if that makes it a pre 2010 since it was obviously mfg prior to that. Just curious, whats the difference between pre 2010 and post 2010 gen3's?
As far as the ergonomics, yes, the gen 4's feel better. But thats it. I have a gen 4 26 and Im still on the fence about the new texture. The big mag release is nice as well, but those are little things and my main concern is reliability.

I am a Gen 3 fan, I wouldn't trade
No way. Keep the 3

I do like the mag release on the gen 4, but other than that the Gen 3 is the way for me. I prefer the texture of the gen 3.

Ruger Mini-14 and Remington 870 by the bed both wearing Surefire lights.
Always carry a knife-they are handy to have
Always carry a reload-You probably won't need it but it is good insurance .
Always carry a light- To see in the dark
Unless you are having issues with your Gen 3 or REALLY need the adjustable backstraps, why? I have a Gen 4 G26 and love it. But I would never part with my Gen 3 G19 for a Gen 4 G19. If it aint broke....
Nooooooooooo! Keep the Gen3. Never get rid of a gun that works for you. If you must, try to save up and get a Gen4. I have a Gen2 19 and I have been wanting to get a Gen3 19 to have also. There are just too many other things that I need to get before adding another 19 to the stable. Especially when my Gen2 19 runs like a champ.

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
Still can't believe what happened on 11/06/12! Disgusted and disappointed!
Keep the Gen 3. It's personal opinion, but I don't think the Gen4 texture is any better. In fact I don't like it. I much prefer the Gen 3 texture and reliability over the Gen 4. If your Gen 3 has been reliable for you, I see no reason at all to trade.

Trade it. I like the Gen 4 feel much better. Mine has been 100%.

I like the mag release and the larger RSA hole on the Gen4, but not enough to trade a reliable 3rd generation model for it.
