He shoots well enough to make any gun look impressive.

It's not a secret, this polymer has fantastic reviews. It may be the next polymer I purchase.

Performance and reviews seem to be very good from everything I've read/heard.

The issue becomes sight/holster/mag/spare parts price and availability. Sure, I could sell my glock, buy this and have a better mag release and a better stock trigger, but I'm giving up a relatively inexpensive and plentiful supply of parts, mags, and support.
    I collect ammo, not guns.

As it uses the P99 mags, it shouldn't be that bad, but probably not nearly as abundant as Glock mags. Aftermarket support and parts replacement through vendors will probably be pretty lame as well. Not seeing a whole lot of newer Walther parts @ Brownells but Numrich does have some P99 stuff...however that doesn't mean that they'll be stocking PPQ stuff any time soon.

But for the average carrier, this really shouldn't be a concern.

I fondled one of these a while back at the store and wanted it badly. I will buy one eventually, probably in 9mm... great ergonomics. The wife and I are in "save mode" to buy a new home in the spring, so firearm purchases are not on the radar at this time.

Walther dropped prices on all their pistols - you can get a PPS or a PPQ in the $500 range now, down from the previous $600+.
Kimbers are the guns you show your friends....Glocks are the ones you show your enemies.

I'm coming into the market for a polymer 9mm in '12, the PPQ is one of a small selection of pistols in contention to include the BHP, HK P2000, and G19 - if the Gen. 4 gets perfected and show's it can act like a pre 2010 Gen. 3. Currently the P2000 is the front runner.

yes he does. And I envy the hell out of him in that he lives where he can shoot any time he wants and seems to have ammo coming out of his ears. He has a very good life.

I like the PPQ. Wouldn't mind having one myself. I have yet to get to hold one but I suspect when I do, i will like the gun much more. The grip just looks ergonomic as hell. And I kind of like the way the mag release works. Seems that I'd be able to work it without changing my grip at all.
