I have fallen to the dark side...with a late Christmas present that fell into my lap!

I am an XD guy. I love my XD9sc. It's been faithfully at my side for almost 5 years now!

But today, it looks like I am going over to the dark side...at least a little.

It's a long story, but today I got offered the following package:

Gen 3 Glock 17. Bought for and owned by a guy who isn't a fan of shooting...looks brand new, might have a couple mags through it
    4 mags
Paddle holster, and it's left handed. (I am a lefty)
    Double mag holder
A set of eye and ear pro
    Glock box

Sounds good to me...and he wants $350 for it. I think this might be a fun IDPA gun, and how can I really resist? In the past I haven't liked the grip angle of the Glock, though I am no Glock hater. They go bang and do so very reliably, so not much to complain about other than the fact that they're ugly. But it's a tool, and at that price I can't complain. I take possession tomorrow, and will be shooting all day so I will have a range report then.

    Happy New Year all!

Sounds like an excellent deal! Good deals are hard to find, jump at it. Explain to your XD that he has a 1/2 brother.

That's one of those situations where if you can't say "yes" fast enough, you just nod your head.

Don't do it. Not to the dark side, the XD is as close as you need to go.

Well for that price, I guess you could always at least get your money back if you can't adapt to it.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

how much for the XD? Once you get used to the Glock, you'll forget you own an XD.

Zonk, while we may differ on our preferences for firearms, I find myself in agreement with the majority of your statements. Especially the above. No Glock ever looked so good as that one.
