Trust the name, trust their new guns. M&P's are rapidly becoming my favorite pistols.....Gaston, forgive me.

I would have to have a single stack M&P.....heck, my palms started sweating last night watching youtube videos of Smiths new M&P .22 pistol.

Intriguing, but I'll wait until they work out the bugs and we get some good customer feedback.

    A single stack S&W M&P ?

Why not just bring back the model 39?

Always fun to point out that S&W filed for a trademark on "M&P Backup" a while back...I'd be interested if it kept the same reliability and basis as the standard line (i.e. not the completely different design for the M&P .22 pistol, the Ruger SR22 or whatever they call it, etc.)

I would buy a single stack M&P as soon as I could get my hands on one. I usually wait for for the bugs to be fixed before I buy, but with Smith & Wesson's track record of customer service I would make an exception.

because the 39 would be to heavy... and the one my Uncle had didn't feed hollowpoints reliably..

Accuracy ALWAYS WINS! So carry what you can hit with.

Me too, I want a single-stack 9mm but I'm not thrilled by anything out there right now. I'm anxiously waiting for S&W's entry into this niche.

This was on my wish list for Shot Show, but it doesn't look like it happened this year...

I don't think it would have the same grip as a double stack gun does. It would make more sense to just use an M&P compact to have the ability to share magazines.
