    Sig Spartan 1911

Just came back from the Shot Show 2012 in Las Vegas.

And of all the things I saw that caught my eye it was Sig's Limited Edition Spartan 1911.
The finish and engraving were true eye candy!

Faliaphotography has a nice little regarding it on her YouTube site:

I've attached one of the only pictures i've been able to find on the web.

    Would you buy it?
    Carry it?

    What say you??

Thanks for your opinions in advance!

To be honest, it’s probably one of the uglier 1911s I’ve seen lately. The fact they didn’t bother to put flat bottom grip panels on a gun with a magwell says something.

It looks like “flavor of the month” gun.

I'll pass, nothing against Sig 1911's, but if I'm buying one it will be the RCS again.

    SIG doesn't make a 1911.

I don't really have any affinity for the molon labe engraving/grips, but that 'oil rubbed bronze' looks pretty damn fine to me.

    That looks terrible.

Cool idea, but if I buy a weapon i do not want it to just be a collectors item. This is definitely not a range or cc weapon. It is more like the sidearm you carry openly to comic-con.

I love Sigs, but this is super gimickey.

Well, it needs to be just a bit more spartan to suit me. If they'd left all that prominent "MOLON LABE" mess off of it it'd look a lot better.

I would go the opposite direction and get a Guncrafter Industries NO Name without an inscription on the slide before I went with a billboard, that doesn't really appeal to me. I do like the finish though.

Zonker1986 is correct Sig doesn't really make a 1911, at least not like Colt.

+1. Even if I was given that gun for free I wouldn't keep it.
