Honestly, I do have my preference but I will not just say M&P because of it. She needs to hold them and shoot them. The M&P's backstrap and palm swell do very well with female shooters. You cannot beat the realiability as well.

If you go with the M&P, I highly recommend the DCAEK.

Thanks for all the advice. We actually went to the range this afternoon. She was able to shoot the Glock 19 and the XDm compact.....the M&P wasn't available. As of now, she really likes the XDm alot, but still needs to shoot the M&P, then we'll go from there. Doesn't matter to me which one she chooses, all quality weapons as far as I'm concerned. Love to buy all 3 of them, though, but for now, can only get one.

I'd recommend the Springfield or the M&P 9c. I have both & love them.

Do we dare ask which you prefer? I am leaning toward the Springfield, partially because I prefer the grip safety over the manual safety. But the Springfield also seems to fit my hand a bit better too. Havent shot either yet though. I have to see if the local range(s) have them for rent...

either one of these two. XD or XDm are not as easy to carry as the Glock or M&P. Not taking away from the XD at all....just that the Glock 26 or M&P 9c hammer the XD when it comes to carry comfort.

Kimbers are the guns you show your friends....Glocks are the ones you show your enemies.
