    Question G17

Ok so I read up on the thread about the Gen4 issues with the 9mm glocks. Do you guys think that they have most of the issues worked out? I don't want to buy a new G17 Gen4 and have issues with it.

If it has the newest recoil spring I wouldnt think twice about it. I love my G22 Gen 4.

    I'd still get a Gen-3, but that's just me...you'll be fine with the '4'...

I still prefer Gen 3 over Gen 4 on any Glock.

My Gen4 is just shy of two years old now, and I'm still waiting of the issues to happen. I went ahead and ordered the "improved" recoil assembly last week though. I think your fine either way, but if you're going to worry about it, get the Gen3.

They are fine. If your really worried check the "fired date" case packaging for something newer than NOV 11' It will be fully updated. I have two Gen 4 Glock 9mm's that are over a year old and have been perfect. To be honest this "problem" is largely blown out of proportion.

I get gen 3s myself, but I would rather not worry about it. Plus they are $50 cheaper by me.

there is a way to check... i believe if the spring is stamped 04 you are fine... it is stamped 03 you might want to send it back

Mine was junk until it got the new in spec extractor, ejector, and spring. After all of that and having to send it back to get it fixed. The gun was verified by me and then promptly sold. I have no time for lemons when there are perfectly working Gen 3's and M&P's that run all day long.

If you just have to have a Gen 4 I would check the recoil spring and make sure it has the new squared off ejector.

Are the gen3 glocks as thin as the gen 4? Because I held a gen4 and it felt thinner than what I've heard about the gen3's

I'm not totally sure which part the ejector is?

I recently bought a G17, Got a gen 4 because of the ergonomics. Its served me very well.

    Just one experience of course.
