Thanks for submitting this, but I think the article is terrible. They refer to the LC9 as an LCP and SR9 so I don't know if they were using the correct numbers. Poor editing! Other things I didn't like about the article is that the EMP they tested certainly isn't a subcompact with such a large grip. They also left out some good 9mm subcompacts; the Taurus Slim series and the Kel-Tec PF9. All this makes it hard to take the article seriously.
Sadly, a 'Guns & Ammo' review is typically not much more than a poorly-edited paid infomercial.

Why does the Kahr CM9 pictured and described in the article have an external safety lever? None of the CM9's on the Kahr website have an external safety lever. I agree w/ others in that I think a more relevant comparison would've been to include the Kel-Tec PF9 and Taurus Slim 9 in the discussion while leaving out the Springfield EMP. While the Springfield is a wonderful gun, I think it's in a different category than the others.
I guess the editor must've corrected the LCP reference as I didn't catch it, but in the graph the group measurements for the LC9 are still labeled as SR9......
ripley, Looks like my brain disconnected from my fingers! I clearly typed CM9 when I meant PM9. Went back and looked again at the Kahr website and indeed they do catalog a couple different models w/ external safety and loaded chamber indicated. Wonder if it's a new model as the same website says: "MA Approved | New Enhanced Trigger
Thanks for the correction and the info.
Maybe the same guy who edited my erroneous post?Wow, who edits this stuff?

I am not a big fan of Guns & Ammo reviews. But they have some nice pictures
