I need another 1911
Ever since I sold my RIA 1911 (GI model), I've been regretting it. I guess I'm going to have to buy another 1911. This time, I want something with a little better sights on it. I'm thinking Springfield Mil Spec or Range Officer. I like the basic GI look of the Mil Spec, but the Range Officer has adjustable rear sight and some other functional tweaks. This wouldn't necessarily be my EDC, but no safe queen either. It would get some occasional IWB carry and some considerable range time. I just think that anyone serious about owning firearms has to have a couple of basics in the collection, such as a revolver and a full size 1911. What do you think? Any other good recommendations on a basic 1911 with good sights?

Yeah. We all need another 1911.
I like Kimber. I have had very good luck with them. They cost, but shoot well. Yes, I know some will say they are overpriced, and even more may say they are not very reliable. Not me. They are not cheap, but neither are the SIGs that I love so much. And I have had nothing but good luck with either brand. But I have never heard anything bad about SA, either.

BugDude, I'd say you know as much as I do about what's out there. There is the Para GI model. I know some don't like them, but I had one of their LTC models, and it was a very, very good gun.

I could use another one too.
I think if I had the money, I'd look into the Ruger SR1911.

From what I understand, ANY 1911 is a good gun. As long as you're feeding it FMJs.
You gotta go up in price if you want one that will do JHPs.

I love my Springfield 1911 Mel Spec & I'm looking to purchase another soon. I'm thinking of a Colt.

RIA tactical is a nice gun for the money, and has good sights.
Also hearing a lot of good things about the Ruger 1911...I just have yet to see one in the wild...
