Thinking of purchasing one. I like the looks, all-stainless frame, and the fact that it's made by a reliable company, entirely in the USA.
Does anyone own one? What are your impressions?

Yes, and it was a good purchase. Found mine for $639 plus shipping and transfer. Ruger did a great job on the 1911. 500 flawless rounds so far.

From what I gather, they're pretty good. I've yet to hear any credible trash talk about them.

For the right price and on the right mood-swing, I'd definitely pick one up.

Got one and am very happy with it although getting it at Gander Mountain I had to pay $750.

    Finally got an SR1911

This thread has a review by a custom 1911 builder, nice write-up.

They are in serious backorder, you can get them tomorrow if your willing to pay a hefty premium and I am not willing to be upside down
on a Ruger (PLAIN SILLY) but from every review for 600-700 bucks its a high value 1911...and its USA made...more MIM than id like but
I guess MFGs all need the short cut these days...I am on several lists but in the meantime I bought a Remington for 599 and could not be
    happier

I'll add that Joe Chambers has gotten several more SR1911s into his shop for custom upgrades and his customers have been very happy with them BEFORE he started work on them. He had also stated that they have been within acceptable specs as well (I can't define "acceptable" here but coming from him that means its pretty dang close to almost perfect).

    Thumbs up

    It's a good gun...

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality, fit and finish. I've done some trigger jobs on them and just a little spit and polish here and there is all they need, but a overall a good gun for the money IMO.

And I DO know a thing or two about 1911's...
