I know I said I was gonna get a Gen 4 G17 but when I went back to a gun shop to get a feel between the XDM and the G17 I instantly chose the XDM. The grip just seemed to feel better, so I picked up a OD green XDM 4.5!

I made a very similar choice. I have a XD9 and it's been 100% reliable so far.
Nothing to be apologetic about. The XD platform fits my hands better than the Glock so that is what I purchase. There are way too many gun snobs around especially in the Glock community. The guns are good but so are many other brands. I say if it fits your hand, you like it, and it goes bang, then be happy and I am happy for you!

I also preferred the grip of the XD over the Glock. Great firearms!

Yea the grip angle was just way to wacked out for me and from what I've read the xdm is as or more reliable then a glock!
