    Seecamp .380 or Kahr PM9?

    Hi,

    OK, I know these are not exactly comparing apples to apples, but for some reason I still find myself torn between these two. This will be a BUG/deep concealment/pocket gun. I know the Kahr would be the better defensive gun 9mm vs 380 and will handle recoil/shoot better, even with the 9mm. I just find myself enamored with the Seecamp. It's such a beautiful gun and would be the better choice for pocket and deep concealment and even carry to the beach/pool. Price for the Seecamp is about 770 shipped which is about the same as the Kahr PM9 SS slide with XS Big Dot sights from the factory. I wish I could buy both, but I can't. My heart is saying Seecamp, but my brain is saying Kahr. I don't plan on shooting the hell out of either one. I have others for that. Any opinions appreciated. Thanks

    PM9. You have already answered your own question. The Seecamp is sexy, and you WANT to want it. I made that mistake with a PPK. So sexy, it must be good, right? It's been in my safe its whole life. Use your brain to pick an EDC.

    And I hope nobody uses this last sentence to wage a caliber war, but.... 9mm > .380

    For me it's a no-brainer. Go with the Seecamp!. Although,..you would definitely enjoy [Range trips] shooting the PM9/CM9 much more than the Seecamp.

    I treasure mine.

    The Kahr is the better choice for obvious reasons but especially the 9 having a better history as stopping round. But you could always buy both and shoot them both then keep them both and enjoy them both and carry them both.

    Carry to the beach/pool?

    In that case, you need to consider both size AND weight. Both your choices are too heavy for that role.

    Get a LCP (12 oz loaded) and save some money over either other choice. Heck, for the money, you could buy two of them.

    I own the Seecamp .32, Ruger LCP, Kahr P380 and Kahr PM9.

    If you want a deep conceal pocket gun, the Seecamp is the way to go. It prints less than even the LCP or Kahr P380. I personally think that the PM9 is too large for pocket carry. Even if it fits in my pockets, it's a tough draw when you factor in a holster. For me...

    Khakis = Seecamp
    Jeans with tucked shirt = Kahr P380
    Untucked = Kahr PM9

    The last thing you want when you got big problems is a small pistol.

    Heck, for another $230 I'd rather buy a 9mm Rohrbaugh

    And there you have it OP Completely conflicting recommendations and opinions. Glad we could all be of help! From the bottom of our collective hearts we were happy to confuse you even more.

    I think you should get both.

    I have an LCP. Even though I hardly ever carry it anywhere it suits a purpose that is very specific because of its size and weight. It does not overlap duties with the other ones.

    Basing that on what I have seen "like new" or NIB Seecamp .380 "asking prices" - I wish I would have bought 5 of them years ago. Who knew?

    You said it was for deep cover. The Seecamp would be better for deep cover than the PM9.
