I have and LOVE my XDm! I do like the feel of the M&P, though. That'll be my next purchase. Wouldn't give up my XDm for anything, though! I love this system! It handles like a dream! Both are great guns. I want both!

How do you like that holster with the M&P? Where do you carry it?

I just brought it home! :). I have one question though. When I lock the slide back, the barrel seems really loose, is that normal?

For me it does, especially when bending over or leaning forward while seated. The pinky extender mag prints quite a bit more in those scenarios. With heavy clothes it is irrelevant.

I use the Galco King Tuck and the new desantis pocket tuk.

Yes, it is normal for the barrel to wiggle when the slide is back. It will lock up tight when the slide goes foward.

Well Done on your new pistol!
Stop whining and go do something that makes a difference!

I have one more noob question guys. There is a slight gap between the slide and the frame. It goes from the take down lever back to the thumb safety. Is that normal too? Sorry for the dumb question, I just guess I've never payed that much attention. Thanks.

That is normal as well, you see that on a lot of polymer guns.

Congrats on the S&W, fine weapon. I gotta agree with earlier post, I'm patiently waiting and saving for the new XDS.

That is a great gun. I have both and prefer the XD as I shoot it better. This is more than likely due to the amount of time I've used the platform and the ergonomics for 'me'.

One thing to consider for your M&P is adding the Apex DCAEK kit. That greatly improved the trigger and should be how the M&P should come from the factory IMO. https://apextactical.com/store/produ...php?pid35.html

I have a Glock G27 (.40 sub compact), my wife went to choose her gun, shoe could get anything she wanted and she chose the M&P 9c with the Crimson Trace laser on it. I've been taking both guns to the range and I like the M&P better.....much better than the Glock.

I'm going to the Tampa Gun Show today in hopes to sell the Glock G27 and get a M&P 9c or 40c and also going to look at the sub compact Sig's and new Beretta PX4. I'm rather new at this and I think I might be finding out that Glocks don't fit me well.

    I also have a Sig P226 and love that gun. I want to get a full size .45 next...either a HK45 or a nice 1911 style gun.
