Word on the street is that the M&P series is a bit softer recoiling than the Glocks, in the .40 S&W that is.

    Zacii,

I own an M&P9c, M&P9, and the M&P .45, but not the .40. If I were to bet dollars to doughnuts my money would be on the Glock Gen 4 for being softer shooting in .40. The only reason would be the dual recoil spring. Honestly that is just a total guess. Great question though! I would love to see a side by side test on that.
    Ccccccc what? Ccccccccccc Hawks!

I can't speak to the M&P .40, but I had a full size M&P .45ACP, and now don't get offended guys, but that was the harshest recoil for a .45 I have ever shot. The last time I shot it, I decided it was just too much, and traded it.

Again, no dig intended at the M&P here, especially not the .45 ACP, but that's what I found. I shot 2500 rounds of .45 ACP though my G21 at Blackwater and never noticed the recoil.

And I'm not pushing Glock over M&P, just tellin' what I found. I could go back to my H&k P30L in a blink of an eye, in fact that's what I shot yesterday. I'm just sayin' that it has been my experience that Glocks shoot softer than M&Ps. I have a 9mm M&P too; it's a fine gun, uber reliable, eats anything, has a DCAEK and RAM in it. The grip just doesn't fit my hand well. I realize that's the exception....
I'm too young to be this old!
